Ethiopia's parliament has passed legislation banning the adoption of children by foreigners. The country is a popular destination for families seeking to adopt, with celebrities Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie among those who have adopted children from there. 
The adoption of Ethiopian children has caused heated debate in the country since 2013, when a 13-year-old girl died mysteriously in the US leading to the conviction of her adopted parents.  
Now the country’s parliament has passed a law ending all hopes of prospective parents getting children from Ethiopia. Instead, lawmakers say orphans and other vulnerable children should be cared for locally in order to protect them from abuse and neglect abroad.  
But some MPs raised concerns that there were insufficient services in Ethiopia to care for such children.  Two years ago, Denmark controversially stopped the adoption of children from Ethiopia over what it said were concerns about possible human trafficking.

According to reports, the suspect went into her bedroom, doused her with gas and set her ablaze. The incident occurred at Barclay area of Monrovia, Liberia last week. She was rushed to the hospital with severe burns, where she died same day. Etta Paye was laid to rest at the rehab cemetary in Wuo Town, Ganta on Saturday, January 6.

Published by Juanita A 35-year-old policewoman, Sergeant Mariam Sule, died after fighting a woman suspected to be the mistress of her husband, Uche Madumere. According to NewTelegraph, the incident occurred on November 20, about 10p.m., at Number 10, Sholake Street, Iju-Ishaga, Lagos. Before Mariam got married to Uche, she already had three children. She married Uche three years ago who also came into the marriage with a daughter. Trouble started when one Egnes started visiting Uche whenever Mariam goes to work. One of Mariam’s brothers, Kelvin Ndu, said: “Uche told me that the quarrel between him and Mariam started after a woman brought food to him." Uche however, said that he didn’t have food to eat at home, which was why he called Egnes to bring food to the house for him and his daughter to eat. . Published by Juanita The American adult film industry is mourning the death of a young porn star, Olivia Nova, who was found dead.                       The 20-year-old Minnesota native who rose to fame in 2017,  was found dead in Las Vegas on the 7th of January. In December, she tweeted that she was alone during the holidays and needed fans to "lift her spirits."                     In a statement released on Monday by her agency, LA Direct Models, it was said that the cause of her strange death was "unknown."                       "While only represented by Direct Models for a short period of time, we came to know Olivia as a beautiful girl with a very sweet and gentle personality," the statement read.
